This story was written and drawn a long time ago. I didn't exactly have anything particular in mind when I wrote it, it served as a prologue to the main story.
But as time went by I found myself asking, when I was close to flipping out from all the events back home and in the world in general, "What would Gil say?". How would he react to my outbursts of rage? And it helped to keep me sane enough to refrain from adding to this vicious cycle.
I am not a calm man, and I find Gil's point of view too restrained for my liking, but I do feel like his words are at least FAIR.
They set a behavioral vector that is, at the very least, worth upholding.
